Lots happening in the Society at the moment and you will shortly be receiving a mailing with the latest update. We would like to know your thoughts on bringing in some Australian semen which should help to widen our gene pool and to enhance some of the more commercial traits within the breed. Council are also looking to approve an Appendix Scheme which would allow a first cross ewe to be included in the flockbook and graded up to a purebred over a period of 4 generations. Finally, we are also keen to gather as much data as possible about the breed characteristics, most of which are important at lambing time! So we have put together a Lambing Survey Record which we hope you will find useful in itself, but we would also value the information to help us with some RBST funded research on the breed. Thank you in advance for your thoughts and watch your mailboxes for the full low down!
