Border Leicesters popular at Sheep Event Malvern

The Border Leicester stand was busy all day long at the National Sheep Event, Malvern on 27th July. There were some fantastic pure Border Leicester Shearling ewes kindly supplied by John and Gill Watkins (Millend) and a Border Leicester ram (LLan Lucky Strike) and some lovely Texel cross Shearling ewes kindly supplied by Roddy and Libby Jones (Atok).

It was great to welcome members onto the stand and there was also a lot of interest from potential new members too. The breed is so distictive that it has many avid followers. The cross bred gimmers also attracted great interest, showing what the Border Leicester can do to the frame and carcase when crossed with other breeds.

Many thanks to John and Roddy and from all the help of Welsh Section members in manning the stand.
