Flying trade at Lanark!

Top price of £3,300 at the Society Sale at Lanark today with 74 tup lambs averaging £482 (£95/head up on last year and £193/hd up on the year before that!). Females were a fantastic trade too with gimmers averaging £436.67 and ewe lambs £323.57. There were 6 ram lambs selling into 4 figures. Top price £3,300 for David & Ian Walker (Alticane) with Knowhead Prospect sired ram lamb out of Atok Atomic sired ewe, selling to Tom Nelson (Kilphin)Jimmy Douglas (Clola) made £2,000 for his Muirmouth Real Deal sired ram lamb out of a Didcot Real Diamond sired ewe, selling to Duncan Whyte (Mearns). Keith Hourston's (Didcot) pen cleared over £1,000 for 3 out of the 7 forward. Jackie Harrrison (Lammermuir) made £1,150 for his Knockglass Sunrise sired ram lamb out of Alticane Arkle sired ewe, selling to Henry Miller (Aimister).
Mary Laidlaw (Drennans) was overall Champion with her Kilphin Kipling sired ram lamb out of a Barclaven Blockckbuster sired ewe. This lamb went on to sell for £650 to Messrs Grant & Wright (Benroy). Reserve Champion was Keith Hourston (Didcot) with his Ditton Grandprix sired lamb out of Gateside Glint ewe. Sold for £920 to Joe Adams (Holmview).
