Border Leicester In Lamb Sale today averaged 735 guineas (vs 388gns 2016).
Top price 2100 Gns for Alex and Sandy Watson''s Champion in lamb gimmer going to new breeders J&E Pattinson from Lockerbie. This is the second highest priced Border Leicester gimmer ever sold (Jim Brown peaked at £2900 (2762gns) with his dispersal sale in 2015).
Reserve champ Mary Laidlaw's ewe Hogg also made the record books, selling for 1400 gns to another new breeder Park & Baird from Wiltshire. This is the highest priced ewe hogg ever to be sold. Another from the Watson pen sold for 1200 gns again to J&E Pattinson. A tremendous sale all round and just fantastic to have so many new breeders join the Border Leicesters today!
