Lockerbie Halfbred Sale report

At Lockerbie Mart on Tuesday 29th August, Harrison & Hetherington held their Annual sale of Half Bred shearling gimmers and ewe lambs.

Topping the sale at £155 was a pen of 20 strong ewe lambs from Messrs Armstrong, High Moat, Longtown, and were purchased by Messrs P McDonald, Pheasants Nest Farm, Buckinghamshire. Messrs Armstrong sold a further 6 pens selling over £110, this good run went on to average £112.22.

Messrs J Strawhorn & Son, Annfield consignment of ewe lambs peaked at £140, and were purchased by Mr Philip Madgwick, Petersfield,

The overall sale averaged £6 up on the year and more could have been easily sold due to a full ringside of buyers in attendance.
