National Show Results 2024

 

The National Show was held this year on Saturday 3^rd August as part of the Oswestry Show, Shropshire. As the sun shone down kindly on the 16 exhibitors entered who had travelled as far down from The Isle of Arran in Scotland, up from Cornwall and Devon and as far east as Lincolnshire the competition was set to be strong.

The judge President Elect Mr Stephen Wallace, Slatehill, from Co Antrim had the mammoth task of sorting through 110 entries of sheep throughout the 8 classes. Doing a tremendous job it finally resulted in the overall champion going to a homebred shearling ram by Millend Mighty Boy shown by Mrs Carol Evans, Franklane Flock 37Y from Chirkbank, Shropshire

The reserve overall champion went to 1^st prize shearling ewe shown by Katie Jewell, Moonlight flock, E8 from Spilsby, Lincolnshire.

It was lovely to see so many breeders taking part and watched by a full crowd. The show is indebted to all the sponsors who sponsored classes, to the president Richard Evans and all members of the Welsh section who helped in any way to make it a successful show. Following the judging members, sponsors and friends enjoyed a social gathering in the nearby marquee.
